Description
A few words from BAIBA about the song:
“Written from the perspective of a woman obsessed with someone already in a relationship, Stalker flips the usual heartbreak narrative on its head. There’s no victim here, only raw desire, delusion, and ethical grey areas. Inspired by the Netflix series Baby Reindeer, I channeled the unsettling energy of emotional fixation and toxic self-justification, offering a satirical but honest look at what happens when we lean
into our darkest impulses. Most of us like to believe we’re the ‘good ones’, but we all do questionable things
sometimes. We lie, obsess, betray, and in this song, I wanted to explorethat twisted part of ourselves with
honesty, humour, and a good beat.”
Co-written and produced with Moritz Kristmann in a garden shed in Innsbruck, the track blends upbeat synth-pop with a darkly ironic edge, creating something that’s both danceable and disarming. Stalker is a glitter-coated confession that invites listeners to reflect on their own contradictions. With her signature mix of indie-pop nostalgia, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and powerful vocals, BAIBA’S DELUSIONAL era is shaping up to be her boldest yet.
Her new live setup, featuring female drummer Sophie, debuted in June and continues to evolve as she prepares for a string of upcoming shows.
